Management of a Circumferential infrabony defect using GTR membrane and bone graft substitute
نویسنده
چکیده
Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the role of a resorbable membrane with a bone graft substitute in the management of a circumferential infrabony defect in a maxillary left first premolar in a patient diagnosed with localised aggressive peri-odontitis. Methodology: A circumferential defect of 5 mm around the maxillary premolar was evident after debridement. The defect was filled up with a bone graft substitute and covered with a resorbable GTR membrane. Results: The site showed significant bony fill at the end of 9 months with reduction in probing depth to normal. The results were well maintained at the time of last followup at 12 months post-operatively. Conclusion: In this case of a circumferential defect associated with localised aggressive periodontitis, excellent results in terms of probing depth reduction and bone fill were obtained. The results were stable till the last followup at 12 months.

Background and Aim: Increasing patient demands for esthetic, put the root coverage procedures in particular attention. Periodontal regeneration with GTR based root coverage methods is the most common treatment used. The purpose of this study was to compare guided tissue regeneration (GTR) with collagen membrane and a bone graft, with sub-epithelial connective tissue graft (SCTG), in treatment o...

Aim: Successful treatment of aggressive periodontitis is considered to be dependent on early diagnosis, targeted antimicrobial therapy and modifying the tissue architecture that is conducive to long-term maintenance. Osseous defects present a challenge in periodontal practice and successful treatment depends primarily on selection of the correct technique and materials. Case Series: This case s...

متن کاملComparison of Hemiseptal Intrabony Defects Treatment with a Bioabsorbable Membrane and Flap Debridement Alone
Introduction: Most periodontal treatments aim to reduce probing depths and maintaining or improving attachment. One of these techniques for treatment of intrabony defects is guided tissue regeneration (GTR). The aim of this study was to compare one-wall intrabony defects treatment with GTR and flap debridement alone. Methods: Eight patients aged 32-43 years participated in this randomized contr...
